Eligible students with strong ties to American Samoa may apply for the 2026–2027 U.S. Pacific Territories Fishery Capacity-Building Scholarship offered through the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council. The scholarship is intended to help build the next generation of local professionals who can contribute to the management, science, policy, and stewardship of our fisheries and marine resources.
Eligible undergraduate and graduate students may receive support for tuition and fees, along with some living expenses. Preference is given to students who have two years or less remaining until graduation.
For American Samoa, developing local expertise in fisheries science, marine resource management, economics, policy, and related fields is an important part of strengthening our long-term capacity to manage and protect the resources that support our communities, culture, food security, and tuna economy.
